Hurricane Harvey Relief – a benefit concert series

A Benefit Concert Series Helping Houston Families and Supporting Nonprofits in the Houston Area and beyond for Hurricane Harvey Relief

Cara Sarelli, also known as San Francisco indie rock artist Jane Frank, grew up in Houston and is heartbroken by the devastation Hurricane Harvey has brought on her friends, family, and her hometown. She has organized a series of 10 benefit concerts that will take place over the course of six weeks in San Francisco and the East Bay to help, and will be broadcast on Facebook Live so that anyone, anywhere, can participate and help. Cara especially wanted to do this so that people in Houston and other effected areas can watch from home and if nothing else, feel the love and care all the way from the Bay.

All musicians are performing for free, and many are donating merchandise as well to help.

Each show is going to highlight a different family Cara has either known for decades or has come to know personally through this work. These are families that have been severely effected. People who have lost loved ones. People who have lost their homes. People who have lost everything they own. People who have been displaced. More info on the families will be available in the future as well as in the event listings for each individual show. Donations will be made online directly to the families via Paypal. Not a single third party will touch the money. 100% will go to the families.

Each show is also going to highlight a nonprofit that is helping in the disaster relief effort. Organizations that have been selected include Austin Pets Alive!, Coalition for the Homeless, Legacy Community Health, New Horizons Early Childhood Intervention School, the Houston Ballet Foundation, and more. In addition, one show will be dedicated to supporting Friendship NGO, a nonprofit working to assist people in Bangladesh who are being subject to massive flooding due to climate change. Cara nor the musicians will be taking any money. All donations will be paid online directly to the organizations. URLs will be provided in the individual event invitations as well as announced at the shows.
